Clam Bake at the Lake
I love a good birthday celebration! Last year, we had a BBQ at Golden Gardens, so I wanted to continue the water-front trend and host a Clam Bake at the Lake with my other great friend and fellow gemini Klatyon!
Part afternoon floating on Lake Sammamish and part sit-down semi-formal dinner featuring rosé, clams, beautiful salads, and a gorgeous Hamptons-inspired tablescape. I'm shared tons of photos in this post, so scroll through to see all of the fun (check out what we did once the sun went down!), get menu inspiration for your next outdoor dinner, and shop my outfit!
An on-theme outfit is a necessity for any event! For this semi-formal dinner, I wanted to wear casual fabrics that still made a statement. My blue with white embroidery off the shoulder Saylor dress is from Rent the Runway and I paired it with simple gold hoop earrings from Mejuri. Click through the images below to shop similar pieces!

Now on to the best part of any party, the food....
A ton of prep went into the party, to build a menu that would be as easy as possible the day of the event. Most of the salads and veggies can be prepped in advance, making for a less stressful cooking time during the party. Another huge reason it went off without a hitch is that all of our friends pitched in with chopping, and helping in any way. Many hands truly make light work.
Here was our Clam Bake at the Lake dinner menu:
Menu
Main
Manilla & Little Neck Clams
Mussels
Corn on the Cob with chive butter dipping sauce
BLT Pasta Salad
Kale Caesar Salad
Watermelon with feta & toasted pine nuts
Chickpea & Tomato Salad
Dessert
Berry & Cream Pie
Overall, so many people's prep, work and money went into making this party a reality and I want to give the biggest shoutout to my friends for making it happen and for all of the laughs throughout! I cannot think of any better way that I'd like to spend any day and especially my birthday.
Keep scrolling to see the rest of the fun, and let me know in the comments if you have any questions about the event or to let me know if it's inspired your upcoming soiree!
