How to Dress-Down Your Work Blazer

Although I work in a casual environment, I have so many blazers! I only tend to grab them if I have an important meeting that day so they sometimes go unused in my closet. In order to maximize their use, I wanted to style a classic black blazer to make a statement outside of the office! Here are my three tips to dress-down your work blazer!

This black blazer is from Tobi and is perfect for workwear and is toned down look!

1. With a Bold Lip

Add a pop of red, coal or burgundy for a statement lip! Here, I'm wearing a Clinique Chubby Stick which has a really smooth application. This red lip can be great with this paired-down jacket, but could also transition to night by adding black leggings or a denim skirt.

Red is a classic for any time of year, but as we move into Fall, a burgundy would be beautiful to make a statement. I like to keep my other makeup more natural when I rock a bold lip, to keep everything balanced.

2. WITH SHORTS

It's not pictured, but switching out distressed denim shorts for jeans would be such a cute summer outfit! Perfect for happy hour or even running errands! Shorts help make the outfit laid back but still perfectly on trend for summer!

If you have a different colored blazer, pairing white shorts with a cream or other light top could help the blazer pop! It'd be an adorable white ensemble, also perfect while the sun's out!

3. With Sneakers

The quickest way to pair down an outfit is by adding sneakers! Try Converse, Van's, Keds, or any other basic white sneaker to make a classic yet comfortable look!

Here, I'm wearing casual with ripped denim and Birkenstocks to pair with my blazer, but swap out sneakers and a cross-body bag for an equally trendy look.
