We Got A Puppy!

Meet Ryder!

My boyfriend Brian and I got a Labradoodle puppy! We picked up Ryder on December 21st, the Friday before Christmas from an amazing local breeder, PNW Labradoodles. It’s been a whirlwind first week and I wanted to share memories from our first week together. Be sure to follow along to Ryder’s new Instagram account, @Ruff_Its_Ryder to stay up to date with all of his puppy adventures as he grows!

We originally contacted PNW Labradoodles last Spring and loved their parti puppies (where they’re multi colored with white markings). We were second on the wait list and when the puppies were born on Halloween we were so excited! Two weeks after they were born, we went to pick out Ryder (left image below). He was our first choice with his cute brown and white markings and we were so beyond excited when we were able to chose him!

At around six weeks, we visited Ryder again (right image below) where he was a cute fluff ball! I remember he was so soft and had a hard time walking on the floors so loved being on carpet.

Our car ride home with him at around 7 1/2 weeks went so smoothly. We brought a big box with a blanket lining it to bring him home but he wanted to cuddle and sat quietly on my lap the entire ride home. He’s still great in the car (fingers crossed!) which is awesome!

Tons of friends and family came to visit Ryder the first weekend so he was always busy meeting new people and some of our friends’ adult dogs. So far he’s been friendly with everyone!

He’s slowly but surely getting potty training and is a relatively sleeper with only getting up once a night if he does need to go. He keeps being able to hold it longer and longer so the prospects keep looking up.

We took Ryder to Brian and my family’s houses for Christmas festivities and then took him up to the cabin for a night. He’s adjusted well to new places and smells and are now excited to be back home for a bit to get into a good routine.

I’ll make a separate blog post on all the new gear we bought Ryder, what we like and dislike - so leave me any questions in the comments below and I’ll include them in my next post! I'm so excited to welcome Ryder into the family and have all of you ‘meet’ him!
