A Perfect Facial in Seattle

IMG_7381.JPG

Last week I was invited to the stunning Penelope and the Beauty Bar in the Fairmont Olympic Hotel to get a Perfect Facial! I've only had one facial before a few years ago, so at a very high level I knew what to expect, but was still thoroughly blown away.

I arrived for a 6:15 pm appointment after work and was warmly welcomed into the ambient spa. The photos I took truly don't do the space justice, as the low light set the tone for a relaxing service.

As I've shared about before here on my blog, I've struggled with acne for as long as I can remember,  so was excited to have a facial but also nervous from being both self conscious of my skin and also worried if it would cause me to break out. Once I changed into a cozy robe, my esthetician welcomed me into a private room, did a brief examination of my skin.

After choosing the products to use, she got to work! For my specific treatment, we wanted to focus on hydrating my dry skin! The 90-minute Perfect Facial treatment was a blend of relaxation and treatments you could tell were really purifying my skin.

Penelope and the Beauty Bar uses European skincare lines Biologique Rechereche, Omorovicza and MBR, and we mainly used BR products for my treatment . Here are the steps we did along with the products used on my skin!

  1. Cleanse with Lait U
  2. Tone
  3. Exfoliate
  4. Soin Lissant to hydrate, lift and sculpt
  5. Oxygenating Mask with BR Masque Vivant
  6. Purifying Mask for breakouts
  7. Extractions
  8. Microcurrant
  9. Serums including Iribiol
  10. Eye Cream
  11. Moisturize
  12. Finishing Cream VIP O2

My face and neck immediate felt hydrated, and my esthetician was incredibly helpful to walk me through all of the products she had used, the reasoning and what I should do at home for maintenance. Although my face was mildly agitated that evening (uh hello extractions), over the days following, my skin has stayed lush and blemish free!

It's recommended to do a facial every 6 weeks to continuous maintenance, so I'm already booking my next appointment since I've been so pleasantly surprised by the outcome and how my skin has been looking since.

I want to give a huge thank you to  Penelope and the Beauty Bar to inviting me to their gorgeous spa! Leave me a comment below if you have a favorite facial spot in your city!
