Where to get a Mani/Pedi in Seattle
It's hard to go a few blocks in Seattle without spotting a nail salon. I've broken down my favorites to save you a few trips! Doing my own nails at home never looks as good - how are you supposed to paint your dominant hand?! This question has stumped me since youth.
Getting my nails done is definitely a treat, and I love getting both a mani and pedi, mostly for the massage chair! I go with shellac on my fingers since it doesn't chip and generally has a more consistent look while they're on. My nails do grow quickly, so shellac grows out in about a week and a half for me.
Pick up some acetone from the drug store to remove shellac, and for regular polish, Sephora has an amazing remover that you stick your finger in and voila - the polish is gone when you pull it out!
Here are my favorite spots - my go to of the moment is Apollo!
Apollo Nails
Queen Anne & Capitol Hill
Apollo is always clean and professional - they're also now offering champagne! Ask for Helen for a really crisp manicure. Apollo has been my recent go-to since their online booking system makes reservations easy - I hate calling people!
Hoa Salon
Roosevelt, Madison & Ballard
Hoa is pricier, but such high quality! Their Madison salon is quaint, and a great place to go to also browse around the shops or have lunch in Madison valley.
Night Light Nails
University District
For a cheap, quick mani/pedi head to Night Light. It's not a glamorous salon, but they can usually accommodate you on short notice and get the job done. They also frequently have Groupons, so check that out before you go! The salon is always packed after work or on Fridays for example, so this is a mani/pedi to get the job done, not for relaxation.
Century Nails
Phinney Ridge
Century Nails is a good middle ground. With an average price tag, and friendly staff, this is a great spot to visit if you're in the neighborhood. There's a coffee shop next door that's a good pre-manicure spot too!
